6. Thoroughly clean the hydraulic filters and filter
heads.
NOTE: The "suction" filter (P/N 115570) is the larger
of the two hydraulic filters; the fluid comes
from the differential housing to this filter.
The "return" filter (P/N 116158) is part of the
main return for the hydraulic system; after
passing this filter, the fluid returns back to
the reservoir.
7.
Turn the filter(s) counterclockwise to remove.
8. Clean the mounting surface. If the seal comes loose,
remove it from the filter head mounting surface
before installing the new filter.
9. Install new filter(s) by turning it clockwise until the
seal contacts the mounting surface.
10. Tighten the filter 1/2 to 3/4 additional turn.
11. Open hydraulic reservoir supply line gate valves
(Figure 5-29,1) by turning valve handles clockwise.
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD!
OPEN hydraulic reservoir supply
line gate valves BEFORE starting
engine to prevent pump and drive
motor damage or failure.
12. Start engine and check for leaks. Tighten or replace
filter as necessary.
Checking the Hydraulic
Reservoir Filler Cap
Eye protection and chemical resistant
gloves are needed when using solvents
for cleaning purposes. Some solvents can
cause skin irritation and damage to eyes.
Wear eye protection when using
compressed air to dry or clean components.
Never point the nozzle at another individual.
Use a safety reduction valve to reduce
air pressure. Compressed air can cause
serious personal injury if misused.

NOTE: If needed, use a solvent to clean hydraulic oil
reservoir filler cap and dry with compressed
air.
13. Inspect cap for damage, dirt, and clogging.
14. Remove hydraulic oil reservoir filler cap (Figure
5-29,1) by turning counterclockwise.
