Table 3-6. Control Levers
CONTROL NAME
Circle Turn
Controls clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of circle and
moldboard assembly. Push lever forward to rotate circle and
moldboard assembly counterclockwise. Pull lever back to rotate
circle and moldboard assembly clockwise.
Moldboard Slide
Controls left-to-right slide action of moldboard. Push lever forward
Shift
to slide moldboard left. Pull lever back to slide moldboard right.
Left-Hand Blade Lift
Use to raise and lower left side of moldboard. Push lever forward
Control
to lower left side of moldboard. Pull lever back to raise left side of
moldboard.
Dozer Blade/
Use to raise and lower scarifier. Push lever forward to lower
Scarifier
scarifier. Pull back lever to raise scarifier.
On motor graders equipped with optional front attachment lift float
capabilities, float control switch is located on front of pedestal
head. To activate float action, depress top of switch (ON). To
deactivate float action, depress bottom of switch (OFF).
Moldboard Tilt
Use to tilt moldboard to ensure grading material rolls freely off the
blade. Push lever forward to tilt moldboard top forward. Pull lever
back to tilt moldboard top rearward.
Articulation
Controls grader boom movement left or right for greater
moldboard positioning and reduced turning radius. Push lever
forward to rotate grader boom left. Pull lever back to rotate grader
boom right.
Rear Mounted
Use to raise or lower rear mounted attachments. Push lever
Attachments
forward to lower rear mounted attachment. Pull lever back to raise
rear mounted attachment.
Component Location
FUNCTION
Remove articulation lock pin before engaging
articulation feature. Place articulation lock pin in
articulation lock pin holder. The articulation lock pin
holder is the front hole in the articulation lock tongue
welded to the front frame.
Install articulation lock pin before moving
transfer case gear lever into HIGH position as
well as before highway travel. If pin is not in place,
equipment damage and severe personal injury or
death could occur.
