Moldboard Slide-Shift Control
The moldboard slide shift lever allows the operator to
shift the moldboard up to three feet left or right. Pull the
lever back to shift the moldboard to the left. Push the
lever forward to shift the moldboard to the right.
The end of the moldboard closest to the grader front is
the toe of the blade. Pushing a load with the moldboard
set at an angle causes the front of the grader to swing
towards the toe of the blade.
Counteract side thrust of the grader by leaning the top
of the wheels (see Front Wheel Lean Control page
4-16) toward the heel (discharge side) of the blade.
Pivot grader boom slightly toward blade toe to help
control side thrust.
Moldboard Lift Control
The moldboard can be raised and lowered using the two
blade lift control
levers.
The levers control movement
of raising and lowering the left and right sides of the
moldboard.
Push the left blade lift lever forward to lower the left side
of the moldboard. Pull the left blade lift lever back to
raise the left side of the moldboard.
Push the right blade lift lever forward to lower the right
side of the moldboard. Pull the right blade lift lever back
to raise the right side of the moldboard.
Push both blade lift levers forward to lower the whole
moldboard. Pull both blade lift levers back to raise the
whole moldboard.
Push both blade lift levers all the way forward to place
the moldboard in the float position. The float position
allows the moldboard to "float" over hard surfaces. Push
the levers forward to release the float position.
The moldboard float position can be used to remove
snow, remove loose material from a hard packed
surface, and gaps in hard packed surfaces with loose
material.
