Diesel Fuel Tank Filler Cap

To check and clean the fuel filler cap:
1.
Refer to Preparing Grader for Maintenance on
page 5-6 and park grader.
2. Open engine access panel door (Figure 3-1,1)
located on right side of grader.
3. Remove diesel fuel tank filler cap (Figure 5-23) and
inspect for damage.
4. Check cap for dirt and clogging.
5. Using solvent, clean diesel fuel tank filler cap
thoroughly and dry with compressed air.
6. Check diesel fuel filler cap for free air flow. Replace
as necessary.
7.
Install diesel fuel tank filler cap.
8. Close the engine access panel door.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

Checking Hydraulic Oil Level

NOTE: With all attachments at ground level, roll
the moldboard back. Front wheels must be
straight up and grader-aligned front to rear.
Refer to Preparing Grader for Maintenance on

page 5-6 and park grader.
2. Make sure all cylinders are retracted, so that oil
flows to tank, ensuring an accurate reading.
3. Wait ten minutes after engine has been shut down
before draining hydraulic oil.

4. Oil level is determined by sight gauge (Figure 4-26)
Hydraulic oil level should be added if the oil level
falls below the fill line. Never fill above the black fill
line (Figure 5-26).

5. If level is low, remove hydraulic oil filler cap (Figure
5-23) to add hydraulic oil to the tank. (see Fuel
and Lubricant Specifications on page 5-27) for
hydraulic oil requirements.)

6. Fill tank to black fill line on sight gauge (Figure
5-25,1).
7.
DO NOT OVERFILL THE TANK. Leave
approximately 1 in. (25 mm) of space for hot oil to
expand.
