Replacing Moldboard Slide
Cylinder
NOTE: Refer to Figure 7-9 in the IPL (Section 7)
forillustrated parts list.
Removal
1.
Extend moldboard slide cylinder (Figure 5-42).

2. Remove outer moldboard slide cylinder pin.
3. Retract moldboard slide cylinder before shutting
down engine.
4. Thoroughly clean the moldboard slide cylinder,
especially in the area surrounding the hydraulic
hoses and fittings.
5. Tag and disconnect the hydraulic hoses.
Immediately plug the hoses and cylinder ports to
prevent contamination of the hydraulic system.

6. While supporting the moldboard slide cylinder,
remove the bolts and nuts .
7.
Remove the moldboard slide cylinder (Figure 5-42).
8. Inspect the hydraulic fittings. Replace as necessary.
Remove the fittings for reuse in the replacement
cylinder.
Installation
1.
Install the fittings on the replacement cylinder.
2. Position the moldboard slide cylinder between the
moldboard support frame mount and moldboard
mount. Secure the cylinder with inside mounting pin.
3. Install flat washers and new cotter pins.
4. Using tags created during removal, connect the
hydraulic hoses to the fittings.
Replacing Moldboard Tilt
Cylinder
NOTE: With moldboard on the ground, extend tilt
cylinder before shutting down engine.
Removal
1.
Refer to Preparing Grader for Maintenance on
page 5-6 and park grader.
2. Lower moldboard to lightly rest on ground. Do not
apply downward pressure.
3. Thoroughly clean moldboard tilt cylinder (Figure
5-43), especially areas surrounding hydraulic
hoses and fittings.
4. Tag and disconnect hydraulic hoses.
5. Immediately plug hoses and cylinder ports to
prevent contamination of the hydraulic system.
6. While supporting cylinder, remove bolts, washers,
and trunnion side plates (on the circle/arms
welment) (Figure 5-43).
