MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

General Information

The Maintenance Schedule lists the recommended
intervals between grader maintenance inspections
and lubrication procedures. Refer to Figure 5-1 for
inspection and lubrication information for the Model
695 Motor Grader.
The maintenance schedule begins with ten hour (daily)
maintenance intervals and continues through the 2,000
hours, or annual, maintenance schedule intervals.
NOTE: A motor grader in operation for less than
10 hours a day, can have maintenance
performed when 10 hours of operation is
reached.
Performing regular preventive maintenance on the
695 Motor Grader will provide years of trouble-free
operation. Adjustments can be performed in the field
with ordinary hand tools.
Only preventative engine maintenance pertaining to
the oil filter, air filter and fuel filter changes are covered
in this section. Refer to engine operator's manual for
further engine service information.
Oil changes and grader cleaning
should only be done in a designated area
that can contain the oil and chemicals
involved in maintenance requirements.
These by-products should be discarded in
accordance with environmental regulations.
Do not substitute fasteners of any
kind unless the fasteners are equal in size
and grade as original equipment.
NOTE: Hourly maintenence should include all
necessary routine maintenance. For
instance, when performing maintenance
at 250 hours, be sure to also perform the
steps for 100, 50, and 10 hour maintenance.

Preparing Grader for
Maintenance
Prior to grader maintenance, perform the following
steps before leaving the operator's seat:
1.
Park the grader on a flat, even surface.
2. Lower all attachments to ground level.
3. Place forward/neutral/reverse (FNR) lever (Figure
3-7) in NEUTRAL position.
1.
Pull the parking brake knob up (Figure 3-8) to
engage brake.
2. Run engine without load at 1/2 speed (RPM) for 3 to
5 minutes.
3. Reduce engine speed (RPM) to slow idle.
4. Turn ignition switch key (Figure 3-3)
counterclockwise to OFF position. If maintenance
must be performed with engine running, do not
leave grader unattended.
10 Hour or Daily Routine
Maintenance
1.
Perform preventative engine maintenance as
described in your engine operator's manual. Any
preventative engine maintenance should always
begin with an engine oil check.
2. Check fuel level. Keeping fuel tank full prevents
condensation from forming. Fill tank at end of day
3. Check the hydraulic oil level (see Checking
Hydraulic Oil Level on page 5-26) and fill as
required.
4. Check the radiator coolant level and fill as required
(see Checking Radiator and Coolant Level on
page 5-22).
5. Lubricate the following parts (see Table 5-1).
a. Drawbar Pivot Ball
b. Blade Lift Cylinders
6. Check for damaged, loose, or missing decals.
Replace decals as required.
7.
Check lights for burned out bulbs. Replace bulbs as
required. (see 695 IPL - Section 7)
8. Check battery cables and connections.
9. Check for loose, damaged, missing, or corroded
parts. Repair or replace as required.
