Wear eye protection and chemical
resistant gloves when using solvent for
cleaning purposes. Some solvents can
cause skin irritation and eye damage.
13. Dry using compressed air.
Wear eye protection when using
compressed air for drying or cleaning
components.
Never point an air nozzle at another
individual.
Use a safety reduction valve to reduce
air pressure to a safe level. Compressed
air can cause serious personal injury if
misused.
14. Inspect the wheel bearings and cups for pitting,
scoring, wear, and damage. Inspect bearing cage
to ensure it is not loose or damaged. Replace as
necessary.
15. Using clean wheel bearing grease, pack the
bearings.
16. Apply wheel bearing grease to the inner hub and
cup areas.
17. Place inner bearing in hub.
18. Place seal in hub.
19. Install wheel hub with inner bearing and seal on the
axle spindle assembly.
20. Place the outer bearing in the outer cup.

21. Install outer cup on wheel hub.
22. Secure bearing with flat washer and slotted
mounting nut.
23. Tighten mounting nut while rotating wheel assembly.
When wheel becomes hard to turn, back nut off 1/6
of a turn.
24. Install cotter pin in mounting nut. Replace with new
matching cotter pin if necessary.
25. Tighten the wheel lug nuts alternately in a star
pattern 360 ft. lbs. (488 N•m).
26. Inflate tire to 40 PSI.
27. Install bearing cap.
28. Lower grader
29. Remove blocking.
