2. Turn master disconnect to OFF position.
3. Unhook battery box lock (Figure 5-34) on the
battery compartment and remove cover (Figure
5-34).
When servicing batteries, always
remove the ground (black) cable first
followed by the positive (red) cable.
Generally, if the negative cable is grounded
during removal, sparks will not occur. If the
positive cable is grounded during removal,
sparks will occur and could ignite explosive
gases.
4. Remove the ground (-) (black) cable (Figure 5-34)
from the negative (-) battery terminal.
5. Remove the positive (+) (red) cable from the positive
(+) battery terminal.
6. Inspect the batteries for cracks, wear, and damage
that could result in leaks.
7.
Carefully remove the batteries from the battery
plate. Note battery position during removal.
8. Make sure the battery cells are sealed.
9. Clean the batteries, battery tray, cables, and
brackets with baking soda and warm water.
Do not dry batteries using compressed
air. Allow the batteries and surrounding
areas to air dry. Battery acid can cause
severe injury if blown on the face or other
areas of the body. If injury occurs, seek
medical attention immediately. Flush eyes
and skin for 30 minutes with clean fresh
water.
10. Allow to air dry.
LeeBoy Model 695 Motor Grader
Installation
1.
Position the batteries properly in the battery tray.
When installing batteries, always
install the positive cable first followed by
the negative cable. Reversed polarity can
damage the electrical system.
2. Install positive (+) (red) battery cables (Figure
5-34,4) to positive (+) battery terminals.
3. Install negative (-) (black) battery cables to negative
(-) battery terminals.
4. Attach battery box cover.
5. Fasten battery box locks.
6. Turn master disconnect switch to ON position.

Fuses And Relays

The fuse block on the right side of the machine. Fuses
are blade-type and can be identified using the color
codes listed in (Table 5-2). Fuse and relay locations
can be identified by using Table 5 - ##.
New replacement fuse amperage
must match old fuse amperage. Amperage must be
correct to prevent damage from system overload.
