NVM Configuration for PHY Implementations

The LAN configuration is programmed via the legacy SPI Flash, which is connected to
the SoC. Several words of the non-volatile memory are accessed automatically by the
SoC after reset to provide pre-boot configuration data before it is accessed by host
software. The NVM space is used by software for storing the MAC address, serial
numbers, and additional information. More details may be obtained from the
Datasheet.
Intel has a software utility called EEupdate that is used to program the SPI Flash
images in development or production line environments. A copy of this program can be
obtained through your Intel representative.

LED Example

Where the PHY has LED outputs that can be configured via the NVM. An example
hardware configuration is shown in
Refer to the Datasheet for details regarding the programming of the LED's and the
various modes.
