Setting Up Print Server for Windows XP
This section describes how to set up a print server using the computer installed with
Windows XP. Before starting the procedure, set up the network of the computer as
described in "Setting Up Network for Windows XP" on page 3-21.

Preparation
1. Log on to Windows.
2. Click Start and Control Panel to open the Control Panel.
Add/Remove Programs
1. Click Add or Remove Programs to open the Add or Remote Programs window.
2. Click the Add/Remove Windows Components icon to open the Windows
Components Wizard.
3. In the Components list box, highlight Other Network File and Print Services
(but do not select or clear its check box).
4. Click Details to open the Other Network File and Print Services window.
5. Confirm the Print Services for Unix check box.
If the check box has been selected (checked), click Cancel of the window, and
click Cancel of the wizard.
If the check box has not been selected, select the check box, click OK of the
window, click Next of the wizard. After that, step through the setup instruction to
install the Print Services for Unix.
6. Click Close of the Add or Remote Programs window.
