(5) Charge erasing section
The charge erasing section comprises the blank lamps (BL) and the cleaning lamp (CL).
Cleaning lamp ...... After the toner is removed in the cleaning section, the cleaning lamp
removes the residual charge on the drum to prepare for the next copy.
Blank lamps ......... The blank lamps comprise 44 LEDs. The extraneous image area
charge on the drum is eliminated by lighting up the number of LEDs
corresponding to the paper size and the magnification ratio. The blank
lamps also eliminate the extraneous image area charge for frame erase
and center erase copying.
