ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Avoid to(Jching
the
spark plug or
lester
probes to prevent
electric
shock.
With
the
ignition coil
primary wire connected,
connect
the peak voltage
adaptor
to the ignition
coil.

with commercially avaitable
digital
multimeter
(Impedance
10 MOIOCV minimum)
Connection
:
Yellow/blue (+)
-
Ground H
Connect the 12 V battery to the OLe/fuel pump sub
harness 4P
(Red)
connector
(turn
the
"ECM"
selector
switch
ON)

5-12).
Check the
initial
voltage
at
this lime.
The battery
voltage
should be measured.
If
the initial voltage cannot
be
measured, follow the
checks
in the troubleshooting table
(page
16-4).
Disconnect the 12
V
battery
(page
5-12).
Shift the transmission
into
neutral.
Crank the engine with the kickstarter and read the
ignition
coil primary peak
voltage.
STANDARD
:
100
V
minimum
If the peak
voltage is
lower than the standard value,
follow the checks described in the troubleshooting
chart
(page
16-4).

to the left side

the frame

6).

Disconnect the ECM
33P (Black) connector.

prevent dirt and
oil from entering the
connector after
disconnecting

When
reconnecting the ECM
connector,
check
that
there
is no
dirt and oil
in
the
connector.
