Observe these precautions before beginning:
1. If the drives are daisy-chained, stop all data processing in the channel before
disconnecting them.
2. Make sure there is no activity on the SCSI bus before disconnecting the external
SCSI cables. The host must be quiesced; do not disconnect a hot bus.
3. Make sure any third-party software is quiesced.
4. Make sure all signals are terminated at each end of the SCSI bus. Also, do not mix
terminator types.
CAUTION:
System configuration problems: When adding or replacing a drive,
always check and, if necessary, configure the drive's SCSI ID at the
library's operator panel.

Removal

1. Review the information under
2. Open the right side door of the tape library.
3. Turn off the power to the drive by placing the switch in the off (O) position.
4. Carefully remove the SCSI cable from the rear of the drive by unscrewing the two SCSI cable screw
locks.
5. Loosen the thumbscrew on the left side of the drive.
