Drain as much as possible of the oil contained in the
rod in a special container;
Lock the rod again in the vice and while holding the
tube in pre-load "C", unscrew check nut "B", but not
fully, to release the inner spring;
Remove open washer "D" to release the pre-load tube
and the spring;
Remove pre-load tube "E" and the spring "F";
