5 Install a cable tie around fuel pump wires and the
wiring harness (Fig. 508).
6. Turn the fuel valve to the right or left fuel tank (Fig.

509).
7. Install the battery negative cable to the battery.
8. Lower the seat.

Checking the Radiator Coolant

Note: Do not open the radiator cap. Doing this may
introduce air into the cooling system.
1. Position the machine on a level surface, stop the
engine, and set the parking brake.
2. Raise the seat.
3. With the engine cool, check the overflow bottle level.
The fluid needs to be up to the indicator line (bump)
on the outside of the overflow bottle (Fig. 510).
4. If the coolant level is low, add a 50/50 mix of extend-
ed life antifreeze/Dex-Cool® and water to the over-
flow bottle. Fill the overflow bottle to the indicator line
on the bottle (Fig. 510).
