How It Works
In the start position it is used to ensure the park brake
is in the ON position. At the same time it allows current
to flow through for safety circuit. When the park brake
is released in the OFF position it bypasses both neutral
switches, as long as the operator is in the seat to main-
tain current for the safety circuit (Fig. 523).

Testing

1. Disconnect the switch from the wiring harness.
The park brake switch is a double pole switch. When
the park brake is in the ON position, a pair of closed
terminals is part of the starting safety interlock circuit.
When the brake is released after starting, the other pair
of terminals closes, bypassing the neutral switches and
applying power to the seat switch circuit.
2. Using a multimeter, follow the procedures listed
below (Fig. 524).
