Draining the Water Separator

1. Position the machine on a level surface.
2. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers
to the neutral locked position and set the parking
brake.
3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
4. Locate the water separator at the back left of the
machine.
5. Place a drain pan below the water separator.
6. Open the drain valve on the water separator
approximately one turn to allow water and other
contaminates to drain (Fig. 645).
7. Close the drain valve when only diesel fuel comes
out (Fig. 645).

Checking the Radiator Coolant

Note: Do not open the radiator cap. Doing this may
introduce air into the cooling system.
1. Position the machine on a level surface, stop the
engine, and set the parking brake.
2. Raise the seat.
3. With the engine cool, check the overfl ow bottle level.
The fl uid needs to be up to the indicator line (bump)
on the outside of the overfl ow bottle (Fig. 646).
4. If the coolant level is low, add a 50/50 mix of extend-
ed life antifreeze/Dex-Cool® and water to the over-
fl ow bottle. Fill the overfl ow bottle to the indicator line
on the bottle (Fig. 646).
