Engine High Temperature &
Malfunction Indicator Light Cluster

Purpose

There are two purposes for this light cluster:
1. In addition to the high temperature audible alarm,
there is an accompanying light for visual represen-
tation of high temperature. It is a red light.
2. If the malfunction indicator light illuminates, during
operation, the electronic control unit (ECU) has
detected a problem or fault in the direct fuel injection
(DFI) system.

Location

The high temperature and malfunction indicator light
cluster is located on the control panel left side of the
operator position (Fig. 537).

How It Works
The engine high temperature light is connected in par-
allel with the high temperature audible alarm. The light
gives a visual indicator that the engine has reached a
high temperature.
The malfunction indicator light illuminates when it has
detected a problem or fault in the engine direct fuel
injection system (Fig. 538).
