Changing Gearbox Oil

Service Interval: Initial at 100 hours, then yearly.
1. Remove the gearbox assembly from the machine.
Refer to "Gearbox Assembly Removal" on page
7-39.
Note: The pulleys do not have to be removed from
the gearbox.
2. Remove the 2 plugs located on the side and rear of
the gearbox assembly (Fig. 724).

3. Drain the oil from the gearbox into a drain pan.
4. Fill the gearbox assembly with 75W-90 Synthetic
Gear Lube until the oil level reaches the plug open-
ings (Fig. 725). Capacity 6 oz. (.177 liters).
5. Install the 2 plugs into the side and rear of the gear-
box assembly (Fig. 726).

6. Install the gearbox assembly. Refer to "Gearbox
Assembly Installation" on page 7-43.
