2-19 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
STEERING
Inspect Interval
Inspect Initially at 1 month and Every 3 months
thereafter.
Steering system should be adjusted properly for
smooth manipulation of the handlebar and safe run-
ning.
▣ ▣ TOE-IN
● Place the vehicle on level ground.
● Make sure the tire pressure for right and left tires
is the same and set to the proper specification.
● Set the front wheels in the straight position.
● Place a load of 75 kg (165 lbs) on the seat.
● Measure the distance � and � of the front
wheels with a toe-in gauge as shown and calcu-
late the difference between � and �.

● If the toe-in is out of specification, bring it into the
specified range. (Refer to page 7-40)
