"Current Resolver Angle" shows the actual angular position of the resolver's shaft,
which should be as close as possible to 0° , preferably between 355° and 5° .
• If the "Current Resolver Angle" is between 330° and 30° , go to step 2, below.
• If the "Current Resolver Angle" is greater than 30° and less than 330° , change the
resolver shaft angle without moving the press, as follows.
Loosen the resolver drive mechanism so that you can turn the resolver shaft by hand.
Turn the shaft until the key aligns as closely as possible with the arrow on the
resolver housing, so the "Current Resolver Angle" reads close to 0° , preferably
between 355° and 5° , but SmartPAC 2 can adjust for any angle between 330° and
30°. Go to step 2, below.
NOTICE
Make sure the ram is at TDC (0 ° ) when you zero the resolver.
2.
To zero the resolver, make sure the screen in Figure 2 - 34, above, is on the display.
Double check that the "Current Resolver Angle" is as close to 0 ° as possible. (It must
be between 330° and 30°, but closer to 0 ° is preferable). Then press F1-"Set Resolver
Zero Position." SmartPAC 2 electronically adds or subtracts the offset so that "Current
Zero Correction" will change to match the "Current Resolver Angle."
3.
Press RESET to go back to the Initialization menu.
Go to the next section to set the top stop angle and install the magnet for the overrun limit
switch.
