4 Setting Additional Information

4.1 Setting the System Information

Introduce how to set the system information for the S5600.

4.1.1 Changing the Device Name

An iSCSI device name is the storage device name displayed on an AS. By modifying the device
name, you can manage the storage device easily.
4.1.2 Modifying the Name and the Location
The system name indicates the system functions and the location indicates the physical addresses
of storage devices.
4.1.3 Switching Over Primary and Secondary Controllers
Introduce how to switch over primary and secondary controllers.
4.1.4 Synchronizing the System Time
Synchronization of the system time facilitates analysis of failures and logs.

Step 1 On the OSM3.0 main interface, click System. In the System navigation tree, click System
Information. The System Information interface is displayed. See

This operation applies to only the additional information settings of the S5600 controller subrack (FC and
iSCSI host ports).
NOTE
The value of Target Name in the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator program follows that of the iSCSI Device
Name on the OSM3.0 main interface, the symbols can contain letters, numbers, dots, underscores (_), and
hyphens (-). The first character cannot be a hyphen. The modifiable part of the iSCSI device name contains
1 to 31 characters.
