3.4 Creating a Host Group

Through creating host groups, the OSM3.0 can manage hosts of the same type easily.
Prerequisite
When you set up the two-node system cluster environment, note that:

Procedure
Step 1 On the OSM3.0 main interface, click Mapping and select Default Host Group in the
Mapping navigation tree. The information about the host group is displayed on the right.
Step 2 Click Create Host Group. The Create Host Group interface is displayed. See
Issue 02 (2009-09-30)
Description
This parameter indicates the host group that the LUN maps to.
You can select the Reserved Mapping or Default Host Group.
NOTE
NOTE
The system supports a maximum of 128 host groups.

The default host group in the system cannot be deleted.
l
The name of the default host group cannot be changed.
l
CAUTION
The host corresponding to the primary node of the cluster and that corresponding to the
secondary node of the cluster must be added to the same host group.
Only one cluster is created in one host group.

If you leave this parameter empty for a LUN, the LUN cannot be used. It can
be used only after it is mapped.
