3.7 Setting the iSCSI Host Port on the Controllers

Only when correct parameters are set, can the iSCSI host port of the controller be connected to
the server.
Prerequisite
This function applies to only the initial configuration of the S5600 controller subrack (FC and
iSCSI host ports).

Procedure
Step 1 On the OSM3.0 main interface, click Service. Expand the iSCSI Config node in the Service
navigation tree and then click iSCSI Host Port. The iSCSI Host Port is displayed. See
3-13.

NOTE
If the host is not installed with the UltraPath and the LUNs mapped to the same host or the same host group
belong to different controllers, the system performance is decreased. All the LUNs mapped to the same
host group or host must preferably belong to the same controller. In this case, you can switch over the
ascription controller of a LUN by clicking the Switching Over Controllers button.

CAUTION
Modifying the IP address configuration of the iSCSI host ports on the controllers causes
the interruption of connected services. Perform the operation with caution.
The IP addresses of the four iSCSI host ports on controller must be configured in different
subnets. In addition, none of the IP addresses can be in the same network segment as the
IP address of the management network port.
The IP addresses of iSCSI host ports must be configured in a different network segment
from the IP address (192.168.2.0/24) of the heartbeat network port. Otherwise, an exception
occurs in the network and services fail to run properly.
NOTE
Setting iSCSI host port on the controller applies to the situation where an iSCSI port module is properly
installed in the controller subrack.
