3.9 Setting up a Connection from the AS to the Controller

After setting the iSCSI port on the controller, you need to log in to the AS to set the parameters
and connect the AS to the storage system. This section describes how to connect a Windows AS
or a Linux AS to the iSCSI host port of the controller.

3.9.1 Windows AS

A Windows AS can connect to the controller subrack and read/write the storage data after you
do the following configuration.

A Linux AS can connect to the controller subrack and read/write the storage data after you do

Prerequisite
Take Windows Server 2003 as an example. You can perform the following steps to set up the
connection from the AS to an iSCSI host port on the controller. For other Windows operating
systems, adjust the operation process according to the actual conditions.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the Windows AS as a user of the administrator group.
Step 2 Install the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator program.
Step 3 Run the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator software.

After installation, please restart the AS.

The Microsoft iSCSI Initiator installation program can be downloaded from the Microsoft Web site.
l
Install the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator in version 2.01 or a later version.
If you need to install the multipath software, do not select the check box next to Microsoft MPIO
l
Multipathing Support for iSCSI.
