Table 3-4 Parameters for creating a RAID 10 group

Parameter
Name
Level
Number of Hard
Disks in a
Mirroring Group
3-12
Description
This parameter indicates the name of the RAID group. Note the
following when you set the parameter.
The name must be unique.
l
The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores (_), and hyphens
l
(-), and the first character cannot be a hyphen.
The name contains 1 to 32 characters.
l
Select RAID 10.
This parameter indicates the number of hard disks in each RAID 10
mirroring group. The number of hard disks in RAID 10 mirroring group
must be larger than 1 and smaller than or equal to that of member disks.
When setting this parameter, note that:
This parameter only applies to the RAID 10 level.
l
The value must be a divisor of the number of member disks in the
l
RAID group, except 1. For example, for a RAID 10 group consisting
of eight hard disks, you can set the number of mirroring disks to 2,
4, or 8. If it is set to 2, two hard disks form a mirroring group. These
two hard disks are in 1+1 redundancy mode. If it is set to 4, four hard
disks form a mirroring group. These four hard disks are in 1+3
redundancy mode. If it is set to 8, eight hard disks form a mirroring
group. These eight hard disks are in 1+7 redundancy mode.
NOTE
If the number of hard disks in a mirroring group is equal to that of member disks,
the RAID level is RAID 1.
