Step 4 Enter the fdisk -1 command to view the information about all the hard disks of the current AS.
The following information is displayed.
Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
/dev/sda1
/dev/sda2
Disk /dev/sdb: 1073 MB, 1073741824 bytes
34 heads, 61 sectors/track, 1011 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2074 * 512 = 1061888 bytes
Disk /dev/sdb doesn't contain a valid partition table
Step 5 Run the fdisk /dev/sdb command to partition the logical disk sdb. You can make the settings as
required. The following information is displayed:
Command (m for help): n
Command action
Issue 02 (2009-09-30)
/etc/init.d/iscsi restart
This command starts the iSCSI service.
Enter
hot_add
This command scans the LUNs that can be identified.
If the ports are FC host ports.
Check whether the AS is installed with the UltraPath.
UltraPath is not installed.
NOTE
For the QLA2460 FC HBA scan tool, the following section takes the "ql-dynamic-tgt-lun-disc.sh"
as an example. You can download the "ql-dynamic-tgt-lun-disc.sh" from
support.qlogic.com/
Run the following command:
./ql-dynamic-tgt-lun-disc.sh
to run the script of the scan tool to scan new LUNS.
UltraPath is installed.
Run the following command:
hot_add
The loaded LUNs can be identified. The following information is displayed.
tarting new devices re-scan...
scan mptsas HBA host /sys/class/scsi_host/host1...
no new device found
run /usr/sbin/upTools -s busscan...
found 2:0:0:0->/dev/sdb
found 2:0:0:1->/dev/sdc
/usr/sbin/hot_add is completed.
NOTE
You might run the hot_add command repeatedly to scan new LUNs.
