3.13.2 Linux AS

Use a LUN on a Linux server.
Prerequisite
Take the AS installed with SLES9 SP3 as an example to introduce using a LUN on the AS.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the AS as the user root.
Step 2 Check whether the AS is installed with the UltraPath.
Enter:
rpm –q UPforLinux
l
l
Step 3 Start the port services on the AS.

NOTE
For the situation that the disk capacity is more than 2 TB, choose Storage > Disk management on the
navigation tree, the disk capacity displayed on the interface might be abnormal, but this does not affect the
normal use of the LUN.
NOTE
It is recommended to wait a few minutes before performing the first formatting. Otherwise, the formatting
might fail. Try later if the first formatting fails.
NOTE
For an AS installed with other Linux OSs, perform the steps as required.
If the software is not installed, the following information is displayed.
package UpForLinux-11.01.01.T06-1 is not installed
If the software is installed, the following information is displayed.
UpForLinux-11.01.01.T06-1
NOTE
This section takes 11.01.01.T06-1 as an example to describe the UltraPath version. The version of the
UltraPath installed on site might be different.
If the ports are iSCSI host ports.
Check whether the AS is installed with the UltraPath.
The UltraPath is not installed.
Enter:
/etc/init.d/iscsi restart
This command starts the iSCSI service to scan new LUNs.
The UltraPath is installed.
