3.12.2 Linux AS

Steps to enable CHAP authentication on a Linux AS.
Prerequisite
Take SLES9 SP3 as an example. You can perform the following steps to set up a connection
from the AS to an iSCSI host port on the controller. For other Linux operating systems, adjust
the operation process according to the actual conditions.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the AS as the user root.
Step 2 Enter the command vi /etc/iscsi.conf, and then edit the iscsi.conf file. Set the Username and
Password parameters that is in front of the address of the target who uses CHAP authentication.
The interface is displayed as follows:
Username=CHAP_user1
Password=112233445566
DiscoveryAddress=192.168.1.18
Step 3 Enter the command :wq to save the setting and exit the file editing interface.
Step 4 Enter the command /etc/init.d/iscsi restart to restart the iSCSI services.

3.13 Using a LUN on an AS

After a LUN is mapped to an AS, you need to configure the LUN on the AS. This section
describes how to use the LUN on a Windows AS and a Linux AS.

When you use CHAP authentication on an AS in Linux, the user name and password must be added

before DiscoveryAddress. Otherwise, when the target requires CHAP authentication, the initiator
refuses the connection.
