4 Setting Additional Information

Step 2 To turn off the alarm sound on the client, click Off under Set the alarm sound on the client.
To turn off the alarm buzzer of the server, click Off under Server Alarm Buzzer Settings. The
Confirm dialog box is displayed.
Step 3 Enter yes. Click OK. The system displays "Operation succeeds".

4.2.4 Setting the Short Message

You can set alarm notification by short messages so that alarms can be sent to a mobile phone.
In this way, you can be informed of and process the alarms of the storage system in good time.

NOTE
The client alarm is an alarm generated in the form of sound on the maintenance terminal. The server alarm
is the buzz alarm generated by the embedded buzzer of the S5600 controller subrack. Set the alarm as
required.
NOTE
Displays the state of alarm sound on the interface. The button displays Close Sound by default.
Displaying Close Sound: The sound function is enabled. In the case of new emergent alarms, the system
l
generates sound. Click the button and you will see Open Sound.
Displaying Open Sound: The sound function is disabled, and no emergent alarms occur to the system.

In the case of new emergent alarms, the button automatically displays Close Sound and generates
sound. If emergent alarms are cleared, the button still displays Close Sound but generates no sound.
NOTE
You can close the alarm buzzer through the buzzer mute button on the DIP switch board of the
l
controller. If new or existing emergent alarms persist after 12 hours, the buzzer mute button will become
transient and buzz.
If the button on the Alarm Sound on the Client bar is in the On state, the alarm sound button in the
l
upper right corner of the interface generates no sound in all conditions.

On the OSM3.0 main interface, set the status of Server Alarm Buzzer Settings bar to
On.
