Configuring BGP Routing Mode

To configure BGP routing mode, perform the following steps.
router bgp <as-number>
bgp always-compare-med
bgp bestpath as-path ignore
bgp bestpath compare-conf
bgp bestpath compare-route
bgp bestpath med {confed |
bgp client-to-client reflection
bgp cluster-id {<value>|<ip
bgp confederation identifier
bgp confederation peers
bgp default local-preference

This configures AS number
and enters BGP route
configuration mode.
This allows comparing the
MED of various neighbor
routes in different ASs.
This does not compare the
as-path attribute during
routing.
This compares the length of
confederation AS path during
routing.
This compares the router-id
during routing
This designates the rule in
comparing MED attribute
during routing
This sets client to client
reflection.
This sets the cluster ID of a
route reflector.
This sets the confederation
ID.
This sets the confederation
peer AS number, in range
of 1-65535. Utmost 25 AS
numbers can be input for
once and 255 AS numbers
can be configured in total.
This sets the local priority
value of the routes advertised
by the BGP, in range of
0-4294967295, 100 by
default. The larger the value,
the higher the priority.
This forces to examine the
first AS number in as-path of
an EBGP route.
This prints state changing
information of BGP neighbors
when debug bgp command is
not enabled.
