ADJ 6.2 IIT Half-Rate and Full-Rate Carriage Adjustment

Purpose
The purpose is to maintain the appropriate parallelism in the positioning relationship for the
Full-Rate/Half-Rate Carriage.
Adjustment
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair or adjustment activities with
the power switch on or electrical power applied to the machine.
1.
Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
2.
Remove the ADF (REP 5.1) or Platen Cover.
3.
Remove the Platen Glass (REP 6.1).
4.
Remove the Right Cover (REP 6.2).
5.
Remove the Left Cover (REP 6.3).
6.
Remove the Rear Cover (REP 6.4).
7.
Remove the Control Panel Assembly (REP 6.23).
NOTE: Two positioning tools are provided inside the Control Panel Assembly.
8.
Remove the Stopper and the two positioning tools from inside the Control Panel housing.

Loosen the
screw (1)
9.
Prepare the Full-Rate Carriage for adjustment. (Figure 2)

Loosen the two screws on
the Full-Rate Carriage
Assembly.

10. Loosen the set screws (4) on the front and rear Capstan Pulleys. (Figure 3)
