008-700 Area 1 Jam RAP
The Registration Sensor or the OHP Sensor in the Bypass Tray Assembly transport, has
detected a Registration Sensed (L) +5 VDC or an OHP Sensed (L) +5 VDC, at the incorrect
time.
Initial Actions
Check for any obstructions in the paper path in the Bypass Tray Assembly and the Regis-
tration transport (PL 4.6).
Procedure
Pull out the Bypass Tray Assembly. Place a strip of paper over the left sensor (Registration
Sensor) (PL 4.6). Push in the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter diagnostic component control code
[DI-29], Registration Sensor. The display indicates "0".

Pull out the Bypass Tray Assembly and remove the strip of paper from the Registration
Sensor. Push in the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter diagnostic component control code [DI-
29]. The display indicates "1".

Remove the Bypass Tray / Registration Assembly (REP 8.6). There is +5 VDC
from P91 pin B9 to pin B11.

Go to Flag 1. Check the wire for an open circuit. If the wire is good, replace the
MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Go to Flag 2. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. If the wires are
good, replace the Registration Sensor (PL 4.6).
Go to Flag 2. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. If the wires are
good, replace the Registration Sensor (PL 4.6).
Pull out the Bypass Tray Assembly. Place a strip of paper over the right sensor (OHP Sensor)
(PL 4.6). Push in the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter diagnostic component control code [DI-27].
The display indicates "0".

Pull out the Bypass Tray Assembly and remove the strip of paper from the OHP Sensor.
Push in the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter diagnostic component control code [DI-27].
The display indicates "1".

Pull out the Bypass Tray Assembly and remove it from the machine (REP 8.6).
There is +5 VDC from P91 pin B12 to Pin B14.

Go to Flag 3. Check the wire for an open circuit. If the wire is good, replace the
MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Go to Flag 4. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. If the wires are
good, replace the OHP Sensor (PL 4.6).
Go go Flag 4. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. If the wires are
good, replace the OHP Sensor (PL 4.6).

NOTE: Listen close to the Bypass Tray in order to hear the clutches engage when the diagnos-
tic output codes are entered. It may be necessary to stop a diagnostic output code and start it
again several times in order to hear the clutches energize.
Enter [DO-1F]. The Pre-Registration Clutch engaged.

Remove the Bypass Tray Assembly from the machine. Disconnect P 95 located on the
underside of the Registration Transport. There is 180 Ohms or less from P 95 pin 2 to
pin 1.

Replace the Pre Registration Clutch Assembly (PL 4.6).
Go to Flag 8 and Flag 5. Check the wires for an open or short circuit to ground. If the
wires are good, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Clean the Pre Registration Roll, the Registration Metal Roll and the Registration Rubber Roll
(PL 4.7). Install the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter [DO-1E]. The
engaged.

Remove the Bypass Tray Assembly from the machine. Disconnect P 94 located on the
underside of the Registration Transport. There is 180 Ohms or less from P 94 pin 2 to
pin 1.

Replace the Registration Clutch Assembly (PL 4.7).
Go to Flag 9 and Flag 6. Check the wires for an open or short circuit to ground. If the
wires are good, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Install the Bypass Tray Assembly. Enter [DO-30]. The Feed Clutch engaged.

Remove the Bypass Tray Assembly from the machine. Disconnect P 202. There is 180
Ohms or less from P 202 pin 2 to pin 1.

Replace the Feed Clutch (PL 4.5).
Go to Flag 10 and Flag 7. Check the wires for an open or short circuit to ground. If the
wires are good, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Check that there are no obstructions on the Turn Roll Chute (PL 3.3). Clean the Turn Roll.
Clean the Nudger Roll, the Retard Roll and the Friction Clutch rubber roll (PL 4.4).
