007-710 Tray 3 Lift Up RAP
The Control Logic has detected that Tray 3 is not in position to feed paper.
Initial Actions
Check that the tray lift mechanism, within paper Tray 3, functions correctly.
Procedure
Switch off the power. Pull out and reinstall Tray 3. Remove the Upper Rear Cover and the
Lower Rear Cover. Observe the Feed Motor. Switch on the power. The Feed Motor operates
when the machine starts self test.

There is +24 VDC from PJ 217 pin 14 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

There is +24 VDC from PJ 213 pin 1 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

Go to Flag 5. Ensure that the connectors PJ 32, PJ 211 and PJ 213 are prop-
erly connected. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground.
Switch off the power. Disconnect the power cord. Replace the Feeder PWB (PL
15.4).
There is +24 VDC from PJ 217 pin 12 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

Go to Flag 1 and Flag 2. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to ground. The
wires are good.

Repair the wires.
Replace the Feeder Motor (PL 13.4).
Switch off the power. Pull out and reinstall Tray 2. Switch on the power. There is 0 VDC
from PJ 217 pin 12 to ground.

Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 15.4).
Switch off the power. Disconnect the power cord. Check the Feeder Drive Unit for worn,
bound, or damaged gears in the Feeder Motor drive train. The gears are good.

Replace the Feeder Drive Unit (PL 15.4).
Replace the Feeder Motor (PL 13.4).
The Lift Plate in Tray 3 moved up.

Switch off the power. Disconnect the power cord. Check the Feeder Drive Unit for worn,
bound, or damaged gears in the Feeder Motor drive train. The gears are good.

Replace the Feeder Drive Unit (PL 15.4).
Replace the Feeder Motor (PL 13.4).

There is + 5 VDC from J 215 pin 5 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

Go to Flag 3 and Flag 4. Check the wires for an open circuit. The wires are good.

Repair the wires. Ensure that PJ 242, PJ 222, and PJ 215 are properly connected.
Check the Nudger Solenoid linkage to the Nudger Roll for proper operation. The linkage
is good.

Replace the Paper Feeder Assembly for Tray 2 (PL 13.3).
Replace the Nudger Sensor (PL 15.5).
Enter diagnostic code [DO-B7]. The Nudger Solenoid energizes.

There is +24 VDC from J 215 pin 11 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

There is +24 VDC from J 215 pin 10 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Go to Flag 7. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. The
are good.

Repair the wires. Ensure that PJ 242, PJ 226, and PJ 215 are properly con-
nected.
Inspect the Nudger Solenoid plunger for contamination. Clean as required. Inspect
the Nudger linkage for damage or binding. If damaged replace the Nudger Solenoid
(PL 13.6) or replace the Paper Feeder Assembly (PL 13.3).
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
There is +24 VDC from J 216 pin 10 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

There is +24 VDC from J 216 pin 9 to ground on the Feeder PWB.

Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Go to Flag 6. Check for an open circuit. The wires are good.

Repair the wires.
Replace the Feeder PWB (PL 13.4).
Replace the Feeder Drive Unit (PL 13.4).
