ADJ 8.1 Printer Registration

Purpose
The purpose is to adjust the side-to-side and top-to-bottom registration of the printer to a nom-
inal value. This procedure should be performed before adjustment of the IIT Scanner Registra-
tion.
Check
1. Load fresh, 11 inch (A4) paper, long edge feed, into paper Tray 1.
2. Using the Menu button, scroll to PRINT PAGES FROM LIST, and press the Enter button.
3. Using the Arrow Up and Arrow Down buttons, select PRINT MENU HELP, and then press
the Item Enter button. A series of pages will be printed. For this adjustment, you will only
use the first page.
4. Repeat to create three prints of the first page.
5. Check the side-to-side and top-to-bottom registration (Figure 1).
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each tray and option tray.
7. Compare the average value calculated to the value displayed in Table 1. If the average
calculated value is 2.5 mm greater than or less than the nominal value in the table, per-
form the adjustment.
