005-702 ADF Exit Jam RAP

Procedure
Remove the ADF Rear Cover. Enter Copy mode. Place a sheet of paper into the Entrance
Tray. Press the Start button. The ADF Exit Motor energizes.

Switch off the power. Disconnect the belt from the ADF Exit Motor. Switch on the power
The ADF Exit Motor energizes.

There is +24 VDC from pin 1 and from pin 6 of J 813 to frame ground.

Replace the ADF Control PWB (PL 17.2).
Go to Flag 3. Check for broken wires, or damaged pins at J 813. If the wires and
connector are OK, replace the ADF Control PWB (PL 17.2). If the problem contin-
ues, replace the ADF Exit Motor (PL 17.7).
Check for binding or damage to the Upper and Lower Exit Rolls and Bearings.(PL 17.7).
There is +5 VDC from J 815 pin 2 to frame ground.

Disconnect P/J 718. There is +5 VDC from J 815 pin 2 to frame ground.

Go to Flag 1. Check for a short circuit. If the wire is OK, replace the ADF Control
PWB (PL 17.2).
Replace the ADF Exit Sensor (PL 17.7).
Remove the Exit Chute Cover (PL 17.7). Press and hold the actuator for the ADF Exit Sensor.
There is less than 1 VDC from J 815 pin 2 to frame ground.

There is +5 VDC from pin 3 to pin 1 of J 815.

Replace the ADF Control PWB (PL 17.2).
There is +5 VDC from pin 1 to pin 3 of J 718.

Go to Flag 2. Check for an open circuit.
Replace the ADF Exit Sensor (PL 17.7).
Check for the following conditions (PL 17.7):
Worn or dirty Exit Rolls
Damaged or missing Pinch Rolls
Damaged or incorrectly installed Antistatic Brush
Blockage or damage to the Exit Chute.
Wear or damage to the Exit Roll Pulleys or Belt
Status Indicator RAPs
