spanning-tree max-age

The spanning-tree max-age Global Configuration mode command configures the Spanning Tree bridge
maximum age. Use the no form of this command to return to the default configuration.
Syntax
spanning-tree max-age seconds
no spanning-tree max-age
seconds — Time in seconds. (Range: 6 - 40)
Default Configuration
The default maximum age for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 20 seconds.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode.
User Guidelines
When configuring the maximum age, the following relationships should be kept:
2*(Forward-Time - 1) >= Max-Age
Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1)
Example
The following example configures the Spanning Tree bridge maximum-age to 10 seconds.
Console(config)# spanning-tree max-age 10

spanning-tree priority

The spanning-tree priority Global Configuration mode command configures the Spanning Tree priority
of the device. The priority value is used to determine which bridge is elected as the root bridge. Use the
no form of this command to return to the default configuration.
Syntax
spanning-tree priority priority
no spanning-tree priority
priority — Priority of the bridge. (Range: 0 - 61440 in steps of 4096)
Default Configuration
The default bridge priority for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 32768.
