lldp hold-multiplier
The lldp hold-multiplier Global Configuration mode command specifies the amount of time the
receiving device holds a Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) packet before discarding it. Use the no
form of this command to revert to the default setting.
Syntax
•
lldp hold-multiplier number
•
no lldp hold-multiplier
•
number — Specifies the hold time to be sent in the LLDP update packets as a multiple of the
timer value. (Range: 2-10)
Default Configuration
The default configuration is 4.
Command Modes
Global Configuration mode.
User Guidelines
•
The actual time-to-live value used in LLDP frames can be expressed by the following formula: TTL =
min(65535, LLDP-Timer * LLDP-HoldMultiplier). For example, if the value of LLDP timer is '30', and
the value of the LLDP hold multiplier is '4', then the value '120' is encoded in the TTL field in the
LLDP header.
