System Board Settings
BIOS Recovery
If an interruption occurs during the BIOS upgrade that prevents continuation of the
process, it is possible that the BIOS may be left in an unstable state. Use the following
procedure to recover the BIOS.
Power off the system and unplug any peripherals.

Remove the system unit cover (see "Removing the System Unit Cover" in

Section 3).
Locate the BIOS Recovery jumper on the system board (see "System Board

Jumper Locations" in the previous subsection).
4.
You may have to remove any installed expansion boards to access the jumpers
(see "Removing Expansion Boards" in Section 3).
5.
Remove the jumper block from pins 5-6 and set it on pins 4-5.
6.
Replace the system unit cover (see "Replacing the System Unit Cover" in
Section 3).
Connect system power cables and monitor.
7.
Power on the system. The system displays a system configuration error message.

Power off, unplug the system and monitor, and remove the cover.
10.
Remove the jumper block from pins 4-5 and replace it on pins 5-6.
If you removed any expansion boards, replace them (see "Replacing Expansion

WARNING: The system power must be off
before removing the cover and changing a
jumper setting.
