7. For a finer adjustment, repeat steps 5 and 6 but take the readings at the center of the screen
instead of at the lens.

Aligning the yellow notch filter (YNF)

The angle at which light passes through yellow notch filter (YNF) affects the final color of light arriving
at the light engine, which in turn affects color accuracy in projected images. By carefully adjusting the
yellow notch filter angle while using a spectrophotometer to measure the CIE 1931 color coordinates
of a full green image, you can obtain the precise green color coordinates crucial for producing accurate
colors in the final display.
Caution! If not avoided, the following could result in minor or moderate injury.
UV EXPOSURE! Protective UV safety glasses with side shields and Christie approved protective
safety clothing must be worn when performing optical adjustments or servicing the product.
Adjust the YNF when it is moved or replaced, or when a new IOS is installed.
1. Set up a spectrophotometer, such as the SpectraScan PR650, and aim it at the center of the
screen.
2. With the projector cover removed, display a full green field.
3. Measure the green coordinates.
4. Locate the adjustment screw on the center of the yellow notch filter frame.
5. Adjust until the following coordinates are reached:
X = 0.265 (+/-0.02)
Y = 0.690 (+/- 0.02)

appears misaligned when examined with a convergence test pattern.
