Expected Tube in Holder

This error means a tube was expected in a carousel holder but it was not found
when its barcode was scanned.
When this error occurs, the holder in error is the one closest to the No Tube
barcode.
8.3.5

Z Axis Collision

The Sorter Z axis is the axis that moves the grippers up and down. A Z axis collision
means the Z axis has hit an obstruction while picking or placing a tube and can have
several causes.
The grippers have hit an adjacent tube cap
when moving down to pick or place a tube.
The Sorter will usually be able to retry
automatically with success but if an adjacent
tube is leaning excessively processing will be
forced to stop.
The Sorter is trying to place a tube into a well
with a tube in it already.
While unlikely, this could conceivably happen
after recovering from a previous lost tube
error.
The grippers cannot lift a tube from a rack.
The most likely cause is a peeling label on the
tube has been caught in some centering
feature of the rack.
8.3.6

XT Axis Collision

The Sorter XT axes move the gripper arm from the racks to the carousel. A collision
on one of these axes means the gripper arm has hit an obstruction.

Fault
The Sorter attempted to place a tube in the
carousel but the tube was dropped without
registering an error. The PathFinder 350S
then assumes the tube is in the holder when
the barcode is scanned.
If this error repeats, it means the tubes are
not being placed accurately into the
carousel.

Possible Solutions
Locate the dropped tube, usually around the
carousel, and remove. Processing can be
resumed by pressing Start.
Do not place the tube back in the carousel. To
re-present the tube use the STAT well.
Recalibrate the carousel handover position to
improve the placing accuracy. See Section
4.5.1 for instructions.
Possible Solutions
Tubes should sit vertically in a rack. Check the
tube adjacent to the grippers and tilt out of
the way if necessary.
The Sorter has misdiagnosed the well as
empty. Remove the tube from the well
manually to allow the tube in the grippers to
be placed.
After resuming, re-present the removed tube
via the STAT well. This will re-place the tube
in the rack and correct the tube location data
in the LIS and Sorter databases.
Remove the tube and check the label. Reprint
the label if it was damaged.
