A lost tube can be caused by a number of possible causes, for example:
The tube could have hit a tall tube or other
obstruction during a move, knocking the tube
from the grippers.
The tube could have been picked awkwardly
due to the tube leaning in a rack, or the tube
was picked up by the cap.
Air pressure for the grippers was suddenly lost.

Already Have a Tube

The error message Already Have a Tube will normally be displayed when processing
is started with a tube already in the Sorter gripper.
This error message could be caused by:

A tube is in the grippers when

The grippers do not have any air
pressure.
The gripper sensors are faulty.

Check the Sorter for high tubes or other
possible obstructions. Remove any obstructions
before resuming operation.
Check the rack is suitable for the tube type. If
a lot of tubes are being picked by the cap,
adjust the rack height in the racks configuration
(Section 6.7.4).
Check the pressure reading on the front of the
services module. If the pressure readout is
colored red, refer to Section 8.5.8.
Possible Solutions
Remove the tube manually and press Start.
There is no need to power off the Sorter.

There is a small red LED on the gripper
sensors. There is one each side of the gripper
cylinder body. If neither LED is on when a
tube is NOT in the grippers, contact Abbott
Customer Service.
