System Validation
The PathFinder 350S is preconfigured to perform a system validation (self-test) after
installation. The self-test should be performed prior to connecting to a LIS interface
to ensure the Sorter hardware is fully operational.
To perform the self-test you will need two PathFinder 50-way racks and 5 specimen
tubes with valid barcodes. The racks and 5 test specimen tubes are supplied with
the PathFinder 350S.
The self-test picks tubes from an input rack, scans them on the carousel, and
delivers them to an output rack:

Once the base of the tube is in line with the carousel holder fingers, press the
Green Tick.
Return to the home page by pressing the Home Page button.
Remove the tube from the grippers and the rack from the specimen tray.
Reset the sorter for the calibration to take effect. See Section 7.6.
Check the PathFinder 350S is preconfigured to run the self-test profile. The
current profile is displayed in the status bar, as shown in Figure 4-14, and
should read SELF-TEST. If the profile displayed is not self-test, change the
profile by following the steps in Section 7.8.
