Handling Errors
This section describes errors that could occur in normal operation, but can be
recovered without resetting the PathFinder 350S. Usually a handling error will
pause the Sorter because user attention may be required. In these cases processing
can be continued from where it was interrupted.
A general recovery procedure is presented, then for each error type a discussion of
possible causes and solutions are given.

bc?
The tube barcode could not be read.
Check the barcode is not damaged. Print a new barcode if required and
represent the tube to the Sorter, or process manually.
Note: the tube will not be entered into the tube log by barcode, and a tube
lookup will not return a result, because the barcode is unknown. The tube
barcode will be logged as READ_ERROR. The tube can be identified by the
well number it was placed in, and the time it was placed.
LIS?
The LIS did not respond to the tube query. This could be because the LIS did
not respond within 10 seconds, or the network interface is broken.
Contact your LIS support to check the PathFinder 350S interface.
dest0!
The LIS interface is working but the required tube location was not sent.
Contact your LIS support to check the LIS configuration.
nodest The LIS requested a location not known to the PathFinder 350S, or it is
unsupported by the current specimen tray.
The requested location will be given in the tube log. If the location is not
supported by the specimen tray, then process the tube manually or hold
until the specimen tray is changed. If the location is not known, contact
your LIS support to check the LIS configuration.
Note: location IDs are case sensitive. While checking the location IDs ensure
the spelling and case are exact.
Look up the error in this section. It will give some checks for the operator to
perform before processing is resumed.
Once satisfied processing can continue, press the green Start button.
The error should clear itself and processing can continue normally.
