8.3.4.2 Connections
You need to be able to connect with the robot for the following reasons:
• To enable the robot to communicate with the portal on the web-server. This allows
you to monitor the state of the robot.
• To update the robot software version. The robot connects the remote server on a
regular basis to check if a new software version is available. If there is, the robot starts to
download it as a background task while it continues to work as usual. At the end of the
next charging period, the newly downloaded software will have been installed on the robot.
