Boot settings page

The Boot settings page provides control over the boot process of the Matrox
Iris GT. During the boot process, the bootloader goes through several steps to
initialize the hardware. Certain steps can be enabled or disabled through the Boot
settings page.
❖ Note that changes to these settings will require that Matrox Iris GT reboot before
the settings take effect. To save changes on the Boot settings page, you must click
on the Update boot settings button.
The Boot settings page allows you to change the following:
Description
Specifies whether your Matrox Iris GT will download the image of the operating
system from a specific remote computer or server when booting your Matrox
Iris GT. Note that you should only enable this field when Matrox technical support
directs you to do so.
Specifies the number of times that Matrox Iris GT tries to download an operating
system image from the ethernet. After this number of attempts, your Matrox Iris GT
will reboot and the LEDs will flash, indicating an error has occurred.
Specifies whether the automatically generated name of Matrox Iris GT will be used.
If disabled, the static name is used. The network name is defined on the
Identification settings page in the Network name field.
The default network name is: IRISXXXXXX, where XXXXXX represents the last six
digits (3 bytes) of your Matrox Iris GT's MAC address.
Specifies the amount of time that your Matrox Iris GT will wait for you to enter the
firmware monitor before continuing to boot your Matrox Iris GT, in secs.
