Windows XP

Installing Microsoft Visual Studio

To develop applications for your Matrox Iris GT, you need to install and update
Microsoft Visual Studio on your development computer. Install the software in
the following order:
1. Install Microsoft Visual Studio. This provides an IDE that can support Microsoft
Windows CE application development. Note that you must also install the
Microsoft Visual Studio Smart Device Extension. It is available in both the
standard or professional versions of Microsoft Visual Studio.
To install Microsoft Visual Studio, follow the procedures specified by the
Microsoft Visual Studio documentation.
If you need to change the default disk/partition and path in which to install
Microsoft Visual Studio, remember that the Matrox Iris GT utilities and MIL for
Microsoft Windows CE should all be on the same disk/partition, although they
can be located in different paths. We recommend that you use the path that is
assigned by default.
2. Install Microsoft Visual Studio SP. This provides updates to Microsoft Visual
Studio and should be installed on top of Microsoft Visual Studio.
Always check the Microsoft Windows website for the latest updates. Refer to the
Matrox Iris GT Readme.txt file to see the latest recommended service pack or
version release number.

Installing Matrox Iris GT utilities

displayed.
2. Click on the Add or Remove programs button. The Add or Remove programs
dialog box is displayed. Click on the Add or Remove Windows Components
button. The Windows Components Wizard dialog box is displayed.
