Using Microsoft Visual Studio remote tools from your

development computer

Microsoft Visual Studio remote tools require that CONMANCLIENT2 and
CMACCEPT are running, creating a direct connection between the tools (and
Microsoft Visual Studio) and your Matrox Iris GT. Without this link, the remote
tools (such as the remote file viewer and remote spy) cannot function. To use
Microsoft Visual Studio remote tools from your development computer, perform
the following:
1. If CONMANCLIENT2 and CMACCEPT are not already running, perform the
steps in the Creating the connection from your development computer to your Matrox
Iris GT subsection, earlier in this chapter.
2. From the Microsoft Visual Studio submenu of the Windows Start menu, select
the required tool from the list of Visual Studio Remote Tools. A dialog box
appears.
3. Select the IRISGTDISP CE6 X86 device under the IRISGTDISP CE6 device
list box. Then click on the OK button.
This creates a connection between Microsoft Visual Studio on your development
computer and your Matrox Iris GT.
You can now use the remote tool(s).

Detecting disconnected devices

Microsoft Visual Studio normally detects when a Microsoft Windows CE device
is disconnected, using an internal polling mechanism. In situations where the
debugging process threads use thread priorities that can starve the debugger
monitoring threads, Microsoft Visual Studio can mistakenly determine that a
Microsoft Windows CE device has disconnected.
