To use your Matrox Iris GT, perform the following:
1. Connect a power supply and your third-party I/O devices to the Digital I/O and
power connector of your Matrox Iris GT.
If you have purchased the Matrox Iris GT starter kit, use the open-ended digital
I/O and power cable and the breakout board, included in the kit, to make the
connections. For instructions, refer to the Powering Matrox Iris GT and connecting
its I/O signals to the breakout board section, in Appendix F: The breakout board.
If you have not purchased the Matrox Iris GT starter kit, use a custom cable with
an M12 male 17-pin connector at one end. For more information regarding the
detailed cable pin-out, refer to the Digital I/O and power connector section, in
Appendix B: Technical Reference.
2. Connect your Matrox Iris GT to your display device using the M12 12-pin cable
to the VGA/USB connector of your Matrox Iris GT. Screw the other end into the
connector of your display device.
If you have purchased the Matrox Iris GT starter kit, this cable is included in the
kit; otherwise you will have to purchase one from a third-party.
If you have not purchased the starter kit, you can acquire an M12 12-pin cable
using the information in the VGA/USB connector subsection of the Matrox Iris GT
connectors section, in Appendix B: Technical Reference.
3. Connect your Matrox Iris GT to your network or your computer (peer-to-peer)
using a standard M12 8-pin network cable. If you have purchased the Matrox
Iris GT starter kit, this cable is included in the kit; otherwise you will have to
purchase one from a third-party.
Connect the M12 connector of the M12 8-pin cable to the 100/1 GbaseT
connector of your Matrox Iris GT. Connect the other end into the network
connector of your network/computer.
