Routing an auxiliary output signal from your Matrox Iris GT to
a light controller
You can route an auxiliary output signal from your Matrox Iris GT to a light
controller (for example, a strobe controller device). To do so, perform the
following:
1. Connect the power and the digital I/O signals of your Matrox Iris GT to the
breakout board by following the steps in the Powering Matrox Iris GT and
connecting its I/O signals to the breakout board section.
2. Connect auxiliary output 4 (AUX(STB)_OPENC_OUT4) or auxiliary output 5
(AUX(STB)_OPENC_OUT5) to the digital input pin (for example, a TTL In)
of your light controller.
• To control a light controller with an unmodulated signal, connect
AUX(STB)_OPENC_OUT5 to your light controller.

1. Note that the output can sink up to 100 mA.
Note that, if your light controller expects a 5 V TTL signal, use a 1 KΩ
resistor.
• To control a light controller with a pulse-modulated signal (PMW), connect
AUX(STB)_OPENC_OUT4 to your light controller. The Matrox Iris GT output
signal produces a series of pulses that have a duty cycle proportional to the intensity
setting in your MIL application.
